Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing or using DoubleDeck, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your location. A parent or guardian should supervise use where required by law or family settings.

2. The service

DoubleDeck provides simulated blackjack, computer-controlled Solo opponents, Credits-only Private Tables for 2–4 people, local progression, a strategy-oriented Daily Puzzle, statistics and cosmetic customisation. Gameplay outcomes are generated by the app’s blackjack engine. Kite, Mica and Nori are computer-controlled characters, not live people.

We may update, balance, add, remove or discontinue features where reasonably necessary to maintain, improve or secure the service.

3. Credits and Gold

Credits

Fictional blackjack bankroll used only inside simulated Solo and new Private Table hands. Credits cannot be purchased for real money in the current product catalog, withdrawn, transferred for value or redeemed for prizes.

Gold

Cosmetic currency used only to unlock DoubleDeck appearance items. Gold has no cash value, cannot be wagered in blackjack and cannot be transferred or redeemed.

Virtual balances and items are licensed features of the service, not money, deposits or property held on your behalf. We may correct balances affected by verified refunds, duplicate grants, technical errors, fraud or misuse.

4. In-app purchases

Apple processes all payments and provides the purchase interface. Available products may include consumable Gold packs and a non-consumable Starter Collection. Product descriptions and prices shown by Apple at the time of purchase control.

• Consumable Gold: a signed-out purchase may be delivered to a device-bound anonymous authenticated DoubleDeck identity. After verified delivery, Gold is maintained by the DoubleDeck service and is not a permanent Apple entitlement.
• Starter Collection: this non-consumable requires a permanent DoubleDeck account for eligible restoration and is restored through Apple and DoubleDeck’s verified server-delivery process.
• Pending purchases: no item is granted until Apple confirms the transaction.
• Interrupted delivery: DoubleDeck keeps a verified transaction unfinished and retries delivery rather than granting twice or silently finishing.

Refund eligibility and payment disputes are governed by Apple’s processes and applicable law. When Apple verifies a refund or revocation, we may remove associated Gold or cosmetics and record any amount that cannot immediately be recovered because the Gold was already used.

5. Accounts and guest identities

Basic local play does not require a permanent account. DoubleDeck may create a device-bound anonymous authenticated identity to support signed-out Private Tables and eligible consumable commerce without collecting an email address or Apple sign-in identity.

You may create or sign in to a permanent DoubleDeck account using Sign in with Apple or email. Permanent accounts support synced Gold/cosmetic state and eligible non-consumable restoration. You are responsible for maintaining access to the authentication method you choose and must not sell, transfer or create competing claims over a DoubleDeck account or purchase.

6. Account deletion and restoration

You can delete a permanent DoubleDeck account in the app under Progress → Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes the active profile, Gold balance, synced cosmetics, equipment and local permanent-account session.

We retain detached verified App Store transaction tombstones for the limited anti-replay, refund and eligible non-consumable restoration purposes described in the Privacy Policy. A detached consumable cannot be restored. A detached Starter Collection may restore eligible cosmetics only when Apple’s signed transaction and the same stable Apple identity are verified. Deleted Gold is not re-granted.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• tamper with, reverse engineer or bypass purchase, authentication, wallet or entitlement controls except where applicable law expressly permits;
• submit forged, altered, replayed or unauthorised App Store transaction data;
• exploit bugs to duplicate Gold, cosmetics, Credits or progression;
• interfere with the service, probe for vulnerabilities without permission or access another user’s account or Private Table without authorisation;
• use automation, modified clients or other means to abuse account, commerce or multiplayer systems; or
• use DoubleDeck unlawfully.

We may suspend commerce or service access, correct balances or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to investigate or address security, fraud or material breach. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

8. Intellectual property

DoubleDeck, its software, visual design, characters, text, sound, branding and original content are owned by or licensed to Jensen Tang. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the app for private entertainment.

Apple and Apple-related marks belong to Apple Inc. Other third-party names and services belong to their respective owners.

9. Availability and changes

Local blackjack may remain available without network access, but Private Tables, account, purchase, restore and sync features depend on internet connectivity and external providers. We do not promise uninterrupted operation.

We may perform maintenance, address security incidents, disable a product, change cosmetic pricing or remove unavailable content. We will not intentionally remove a verified non-consumable entitlement without a valid reason such as refund, revocation, fraud, legal requirement or service closure subject to applicable law.

10. Disclaimers

DoubleDeck is provided for entertainment and strategy practice. It is not gambling, financial, legal or professional advice. Blackjack outcomes and strategy displays do not predict results in casinos or other games.

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees, warranties, remedies or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer-law rights.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jensen Tang is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of DoubleDeck, loss of local progress, provider outages or unauthorised access outside our reasonable control.

Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. This section does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

12. Termination

You may stop using DoubleDeck at any time and may delete a permanent account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for a material breach, fraud, security risk, legal requirement or discontinuation of the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including purchase records, intellectual property, liability and dispute terms—continue after termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without excluding any mandatory rights available under the laws that apply to you. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when DoubleDeck, its providers or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published at https://playdoubledeck.app/terms.html with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice where required.
